the Lawrence
Art Society

IN DEVIZES

The Lawrence Art Society is a community of artists of all skill levels and media from Devizes and the surrounding areas. Membership of the group connects you to like-minded individuals, where you can share experiences and continue to grow in your chosen medium.

The Society hosts monthly demonstrations, organises regular en plein air outings, weekly and monthly social painting get-togethers, an annual art exhibition, and provides links to local exhibitions and other art groups. But most of all, it provides a friendly environment where you can share your experiences and continue to grow in your abilities.

History

The Lawrence Art Society is named in honour of Sir Thomas Lawrence, a significant 18th century British artist from Devizes. Founded to celebrate and promote the arts, the society reflects Lawrence's passion for artistic expression and community involvement.

By fostering a vibrant environment for artists of all levels, the society not only pays tribute to Lawrence's legacy but also serves as a platform for creative collaboration and cultural enrichment within the region. Through exhibitions, workshops, and community events, the Lawrence Art Society continues to inspire, educate, and connect artists and art enthusiasts alike.
