Encouraging artists of all abilities in Devizes since 1953

We're a group of local artists based in Devizes, and our aim is to encourage interest in art with demonstrations, classes, outings, workshops and a major annual exhibition in November.

The Lawrence Art Society was founded in 1953 and named after Sir Thomas Lawrence (1769 - 1830). Thomas was the famous royal portrait painter who grew up in Devizes whilst his father was landlord of the Bear Hotel.

Most of our members are artists with a wide range of interesting work - and we always welcome more enthusiasts to join us !
