Harriet Riddell Performance Artist does Stiching like no other.
(Please note 7pm start to allow for AGM before Harriett’s demonstration)
Using a sewing machine as her paint brush, Harriet Riddell has travelled the world creating artwork from life. 'InStitchYou' is Harriet's artist name as she creates her work in situ. From street scenes, tops of mountains, architecture to portraits, interaction and connection is key with every piece of her work. During the demo Harriet will speedily stitch a live portrait of one of your members and take you on a colourful journey around the world through the eye of the needle.

Heather Jolliffe Flowers in The Landscape
Heather is an artist who enjoys painting in acrylics, watercolours and oils; mainly creating atmospheric paintings about her native Hampshire coastline and countryside. Having trained at the Royal Academy School of Art, Heather's artwork shows her passion for painting with colour, light, shapes and textures, be it flowers, buildings, people or coastal views.

Melissa Wishart Acrylic Coastal Scene
Melissa is a professional painter, working mainly in oils and acrylics. She has regular solo exhibitions and has exhibited with the Royal Society of Marine Artists in the Mall Galleries. Born in Bermuda, she has always had a great love for the sea, feeling the energy and movement of the sea and air are key.As a painter, she aims to keep that freshness in her work. She will demonstrate using different tools and techniques to inspire a looser approach.

Jean Perrett Outside In, an Interior in Oils.
Jean is a self taught “escape” artist. Jean nursed for 40 years and had 4 boys, so painting was an escape. Jean says: ‘Playing with and exploring paints is like meditation for me.’ Shestarted painting plein air, now her work is constantly evolving as she plays with different media, subjects and methods. Consequently, Jean’s artworks are loose and often colourful.

Sketching for summer
Bring along a sketchbook and pencils for an evening of sketching and drawing. For our July meeting we’re going to be looking at different ways to capture a scene with a sketch and everyone is invited to join in. Lead by some of our members, the evening will be a mix of demonstrations and time for your own drawing.

Based in Bath, Rob is a portrait painter who is inspired by capturing the human form. Mainly self-taught, Rob’s influences are Van Gogh and Caravaggio as well as the Russian artist Ilya Repin. Rob paints in oils and is always keen to experiment with new styles and techniques. He runs painting lessons at studios in Bath and Bristol.

David auld Painting Loosely in Watercolour: Talk, Tips and Demo
Painting in watercolour David does not seek total precision but an evocative representation of his subjects, mostly landscapes, buildings and boats, with plenty of energy in the finished work. He has shown his work widely from Bath to Newbury, and a selection of his recent paintings is always on display in the window and upstairs gallery at the Handel House Bookshop in Devizes.

Silk Painting using batik technique with Helen Stanfield and AGM

Helen learned how to paint on silk while living in Malaysia between 2000 and 2010. The technique is best suited to subjects of the natural world, such as plants and birds. Helen also enjoys using oils, acrylics and drawing materials and has accepted several pieces in the annual Bath Society of artists open exhibition.

Cathy specialises in soft pastels, exploring the versatility and energy of this medium, pushing the boundaries of what is achievable. Vibrant colour and lively Mark making are always present in her landscapes and still like paintings.
The ‘abstract’ minded artist with Micheal Hemming
Michael is based in Bournemouth where he works from his studio. Being self taught he has experimented with various painting styles and methods but has become more abstract as time has progressed. This allows him to be more expressive and not just relying on what he’s looking at. Michaels demonstration will deal with the struggles of painting abstract and ways of overcoming these problems.

Formally trained in fine art at Buckinghamshire University, Susan works as a full-time artist and exhibits in Buckinghamshire, Wiltshire and the west country. Painting a vibrant cityscape in pastel with Steve Hall
Steve started painting and drawing at an early age and developed a love of the English landscape and a desire to capture its ever changing moods and seasons on paper. Following early retirement in 1994, Steve was able to devote his full attention to painting and in particular watercolour and pastel. Today he is a popular teacher at many venues around Britain and Europe.
Hills and wildflower meadows in acrylics with Elizabeth Baldwin
Elizabeth trained as a graphic designer and worked as a book designer for a major publishing company, however her first love was painting and she has now been a full-time artist since 2011. Her paintings capture the joy of being out in the countryside near her home in Berkshire or the coastal regions of Hampshire. Elizabeth starts her paintings by making sketches and taking photographs out on location which she then develops into larger paintings back in her studio.
